Lead Engineer - NC Programmer
Williams International is a privately-owned company that develops and manufactures jet engines for both military and commercial aircraft applications. Williams International has an exciting opportunity for an NC Programmer to join our team in Walled Lake, MI.
Responsibilities include creating NC programs for multifunction lathes and multi-axis mills with Siemens controls to produce gas turbine engine components, providing input in design reviews to evaluate manufacturability of components, and modifying/building post processers for specialty machines as well as validating NC programs with simulation using Vericut or Siemens software. Perform machine setup and validate the NC programs at the machine.
The qualified candidate must have a Bachelors or Associates Degree in Engineering or have 6-8 years’ experience in the metalworking field. This position requires five years of NC programming as it relates to advanced turning and milling for aerospace quality parts. NC programming experience with Siemens NX is desired. Familiarity with Siemens CNC controls (840d) is desired. Knowledge in machining various materials including aluminum, titanium, stainless steel and nickel/cobalt based super alloys. Knowledge of machining processes beyond standard turning and milling is desired such as EDM machining, hard turning, grinding, broaching, hobbing, and polygon machining. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
