Field Technical Advisor - Product Support
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Field Technical Advisor to join our World Class Product Support team. This position is based in Duluth, Minnesota. The Field Technical Advisor is responsible for resolving technical and business matters related to turbine engines and services provided by Williams International (W.I.). This position creates an excellent opportunity for the business-minded and technically-savvy individual. A Technical Advisor utilizes a strong business aptitude and a calm, service-oriented demeanor to contribute to our industry leading Product Support Team.
The Field Technical Advisor provides guidance and direction on technical troubleshooting related to our products. In addition, the Field Technical Advisor will routinely be dispatched on site to perform troubleshooting and maintenance on our Products. Product safety, significant financial decisions, and customer satisfaction are the direct responsibility of this position.
Field Technical Advisors are the front-line interface for our global clients, supporting all of their technical and business-related needs. Key areas of responsibility include working with clients to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software issues through e-mail, telephone, video-conferencing, and direct on-site support, in addition to investigating warranty and maintenance program claims. This position collaborates with all areas of the company and the supply chain.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree and FAA Mechanics Certification with a Powerplant Rating. Equivalent experience will also be considered. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. Must be able to support a unique work schedule and be willing to accept calls outside of normal work hours in support of customer inquiries. Short notice travel to both domestic and international locations may be required. Must have or be able to obtain a US Passport. This position will require initial and reoccurring training in Michigan.
Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to height of 35 inches. (Note - must use a lift assist or assistance from other individual(s) when lifting in excess of 50 lbs.) Must be capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 lbs. Must have grip strength of at least 50 lbs. Must be able to reach above shoulders 65 inches.
