Software Developer (Rotation)
Williams International is a privately-owned company that develops and manufactures jet engines for both military and commercial aircraft applications. We have multiple rotation positions open in the software development area at our Pontiac, Michigan location.
Recent college graduates that enter Williams International's Software Rotational Program can expect to spend approximately six months' time in each of two to three different engineering areas which require software development and/or testing (depending upon previous coursework/experience). The rotation programs are coordinated with each individual. Assignments for these rotations are typically chosen from the following areas: operating system and low-level driver software, engine control software applications, test controller software, microcontroller / FPGA design, and software tool development and test. These assignments are coordinated with the rotation software developer and are intended to meet both the corporation's and the individual's needs. At the end of the rotations, the individual is placed into a regular assignment.
The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Design, or Software Engineering and an interest in developing software for embedded systems (turbine engine control systems). The position requires zero to one year of experience. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred. In addition, one to two years of summer intern or co-op experience in a software development environment is desirable. Previous exposure to software development using C is a plus. Excellent writing skills are required. Occasional travel may be involved that will include visits to different customer locations. U.S. Citizenship Status is required for all openings.
Williams International is committed to equal employment opportunities for all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability and protected veteran status.
