Description Technical Writer

The Commercial Enterprise IT (EIT) group currently has an opening for a technical writer to support Request for Information (RFI)/Proposal efforts. The Technical Writer position is available to support competitive bids for new Commercial business.

Primary responsibilities include:
 Collaborate with the technical engineers/subject matter experts on developing technical and management write ups for bid proposals
 Develop and incorporate document content with input from engineers and designers
 Develop document structures and outlines that are compliant with commercial customer and Leidos templates and standards
 Manage document revision levels
 Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements Required Qualifications:
 A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree coupled with 2+ technical writing experience. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
 Experience in technical writing and documentation of engineering designs, operation manuals, and/or technical manuals
 Experience in technical writing in the field of IT (e.g., servers, routers, firewalls, databases, help/service desk, and cyber security)
 Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance with the customer
 Ability to conduct interviews with subject matter experts and create technical writing documentation based on the interview
 Prepare instruction manuals, procedures/processes, and bid proposals (technical and management approach)
 Experience in tech writing in the field of healthcare/clinical systems
 Understanding and prior expertise/experience in commercial health

Desired Qualifications:
 Edits publications including reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, procedures, and related materials
 All candidates supporting the CMS programs must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years prior in order to be considered
