Kimley-Horn is seeking a transportation/traffic engineer with three years or of experience to join our Midtown Atlanta office. We are looking for entrepreneurial people who enjoy working in a team environment where they can develop and grow a traffic operations practice of their own, while working alongside leaders in the industry. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge transportation tasks and projects including performing intersection and corridor operational analysis, evaluating existing signal operations, signal timing analysis and implementation/fine tuning, recommending equipment upgrades, performing signal design and ITS design, actively managing groups of traffic signals through both field and remote management, performing Data Analytics / assisting with developing Performance Metrics, evaluating Signal Performance Metrics to enact operational changes, managing municipal and state clients, developing cost estimates, and working with contractors to make repairs and upgrades.
Position Requirements • At least three years of transportation/traffic engineering experience
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of an organization
• Ability to manage and mentor staff
• Ability to interact comfortably with clients
• Professional Engineering License, or the desire and ability to obtain
• Strong knowledge of Synchro
• Experience performing operations analysis
• Experience or desire to learn signal design
• Experience or desire to learn ATMS/ITS design.
• Knowledge of Microstation a plus
