We are searching for an enthusiastic and well-qualified landscape architect for our Reston, Virginia office. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing projects, developing project scope and budgets, serving as the client contact, directing the site design and coordinating work with other staff and design team members. In addition, this candidate should have experience providing site planning, urban and landscape design, graphic and technical production and coordination of project entitlements. Projects should include small to large scale commercial, institutional, mixed-use, and residential land development projects. Other projects will include streetscapes, public open space, parks and community facilities, as well as providing support to civil engineers, planners, and environmental scientists. Project experiences will be diverse as we provide services to both the public and private sectors.
Position Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution
• Registration as a Landscape Architect
• 10 or more years of experience in land planning, landscape architecture or a strongly related position
• Entrepreneurial business development spirit
• Potential/desire to lead a regional practice and manage clients and a team
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, and Microsoft (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) programs
• Working knowledge of graphic software programs (Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, Illustrator)
• Strong freehand illustration and rendering skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Positive attitude and a strong work ethic characterized by collaborating with interdisciplinary partners in a team-centric environment
• Experience working in the private consulting sector
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Self-motivated; sense of urgency to produce high quality work
