Title French Instructor (Adjunct Position)

Under the general direction of the Foreign Languages and Literature Department Chairperson, the adjunct instructor of French will teach beginning August 2017. Responsibilities include teaching two beginning language courses. The beginning French courses meet with the instructor three times a week and the instructor coordinates lessons with a native-speaker teaching assistant who leads the class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Compensation is $3,080 per course.

  • Teach two language courses per semester as described above.
  • Coordinate lessons with a native-speaker teaching assistant who teaches the elementary course once a week.

Education and/or Experience

Candidates must have at least a M.A. or its equivalent in a related field. Native or near-native fluency of French and language teaching experience are required.

Technology Skills

Proficient in office productivity suite software (such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), e-mail, Internet, Self-Service and Blackboard.
