Description Licensure, Registration, Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. Basic Life Support (BLS) from an approved American Heart Association training program or CPR for the Professional Rescuer from the American Red Cross. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from an approved American Heart Association training program required. Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Associate’s degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: One year of Perioperative nursing experience is preferred. Experience must include all phases of operating room technique and management such as preparing operating room units, preparing patients for surgery, and assisting anesthesia during surgery; and conducting instrument and equipment sterilization procedures. Qualifications and Skills: Current knowledge of perioperative nursing principles, practices and standards and basic managerial/leadership concepts. Requires good human relations/communication skills. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in the use of specialty equipment and skills. Must demonstrate knowledge of developmental levels and nursing skills appropriate to the age of the patients served in the perioperative setting. The populations of patients concerned are: neonates, infants, toddlers, preschool age children, adolescents, adults and the geriatric patients.
