Consortium Associate/Graduate Assistant
Minimum Education Level
The Consortium Associate/Graduate Assistant will assist the executive director with the implementation of the P-16 Consortium and various economic development initiatives that focus on college and career readiness. The position will entail working with community partners and Consortium members in order to achieve Consortium priorities outlined in its 4-year grant with the John R. Oishei Foundation.
Represent the Consortium in a professional manner at all times.
Collaborate with various constituencies that are currently collaborating or may be collaborators to achieve Consortium goals.
Develop and maintain relationships with the leadership of the P-16 Consortium, ensuring that the flow of communication supports the level of work that is involved in implementing a region-wide initiative focused on systemic educational change.
Provide technical support to P-16 Consortium leadership that includes but is not limited to web support, administrative support, meeting planning and implementation, volunteer coordination, documentation, dissemination of information, and other activities in support of task force planning and goal achievement.
Identify opportunities within the P-16 Consortium for expansion of programming or enhancement of goals and objectives.
Develop documentation and marketing/support materials in collaboration with P-16 Consortium and the WNY Consortium of Higher Education executive director.
Attend all meetings of the three P-16 Consortium task forces, remaining accessible to task force chairs and members.
Works with the executive director to implement economic development initiatives including but not limited to Higher Education/Industry Workgroups, Consortium and Advance Manufacturing Collaborations, and other strategic collaborations involving the business and funding communities.
Provide strategic insight and perspective on Consortium priorities. Ability to prioritize tasks and workload a must.
Engage in operational meetings of the Consortium and provide updates on a continual basis.
Draft and submit activity update via email on a bi-monthly basis or as requested by the executive director.
Provide occasional support to Inter-Institutional Collaborations that includes but is not limited to meeting planning, documentation, information dissemination, report drafting, and event planning.
Assist the executive director with creating a Return On Investment model that will measure financial savings and subjective measures like shared expertise, program development, and professional training.
Provide all requested information by the executive director in a timely manner.
Currently pursuing a master’s degree, doctorate, or professional degree at one of the 21 colleges and universities in the WNY Consortium of Higher Education
Demonstrated experience being self-directed and working independently
K-12 or higher education experience preferred
Experience working with business community a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in an effective and efficient manner
Evidence of successful project management
Evidence of strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Experience working in collaborative, community-wide efforts
Demonstrates a high level of accountability
Ability to utilize self-insight in strengths and weaknesses and address those needs
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Problem solving skills
Self-motivated with history of engaging in professional development activities
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
