Title Coordinator of Young Adult Ministry and Theology on Tap

Description The mission of the Archdiocese of Washington is to spread the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. In the faithful pursuit of this mission, the Cathedral of Saint Matthew is seeking a Coordinator of Young Adult Ministry. The Coordinator of Young Adult Ministry will be responsible to grow the ministry efforts to young adults at the parish on a part-time (20 hours per week) basis.

Duties & Responsibilities
Cathedral of St. Mathew Young Adult Coordinator
• Serve as the head of the YA leadership team and serve as the liaison with parish council to promote parish-wide engagement
• Organize small group ministry efforts for young adults
• Coordinate hospitality and personal follow up with all young adults at the Cathedral, connecting them to small group communities and opportunities to volunteer within the parish
• Have a regular presence at Sunday Mass including providing young adult hospitality, announcements, and programming (i.e. Cathedral Coffeehouse)
• Develop new initiatives to encourage young adults to tithe regularly and to increase online giving
• Provide leadership formation for young adult leaders in the parish
• Host bi-monthly regional DC Young Adult Leadership meeting at the Cathedral

DC Theology on Tap Coordinator
• Work with Archdiocese of Washington Office of Young Adult Ministry to collaborate on the overall vision and implementation of the monthly DC Theology on Tap
• Coordinate a Theology on Tap volunteer leadership team responsible for hospitality, event logistics, and promotion
• Promote Theology on Tap via social media, parish bulletins and developing other creative outsets for engaging newcomers to the DC area to participate in Theology on Tap
• Work with local parish young adult leaders to promote and participate in Theology on Tap
• Communicate with speakers and musicians in advance of Theology on Tap
• Emcee each Theology on Tap on the 2nd Tuesday of each month
o Coordinate a hospitality team
o Introduce speaker
o Work with volunteers to ensure recording, social media posting and podcast upload each month
o Promote upcoming Archdiocesan events
o Work with local parish teams to host
• Implement a personal follow up plan for all newcomers to Theology on Tap
o Connect individuals to parish communities
o Facilitate introductions between new DC area Catholics and small group leaders, parish young adult leaders and local parishes
Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Practicing Catholic living in good standing with a passion for the Church’s mission of evangelization
• Two years or more of related ministry experience
• Experience with relational ministry and mentoring
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Experience with digital media and communications
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
• Nights and weekends required
• BA in theology/pastoral ministry or other ministerial formation preferred
